Well yet again I have managed to neglect my blog. This is due to a distinct lack of driveling capability and the fact that my training hasn't really been that exciting. So here goes with the 3 pieces of news I have so far:
Edinburgh Half
It is now less than 2 weeks until the race. Am I prepared? I think so. Well I am just going to have to be. Too late to do anything about it now lol. Am I excited? Yes I am now. Am I sh*tting myself? Most definitely!! I have successfully managed to run a safe 10.5 miles in training. It was hard going as I was feeling a bit under par but I know I will manage the remaining distance come race day :-) I am now starting to get excited about it and this is partly due to running a fab 5k race on Sunday (more on that below) and the fact that I am feeling much better mentally for running. Also because I am running for a very worthwhile charity (MacMillan Cancer Support). Training is hard and it saps your will to live at times but you have to keep saying that it will be okay on race day and think of that feeling at the end when you cross the line. However, even though I am excited at the prospect of the race, I am still very nervous and I am sure by this time next week, I will need a permanent seat next to the ladies room ;-)Running Network 5k

Good News
Now to my piece of good news. I will be running in the Great North Run - woot woot!! I had applied to run through the ballot but was unsuccessful. I was encourage by my mates to enter via a charity place of which I did. I am happy to say that I was given a golden bond place by Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research to run for them :-D I shall be part of the "Banana Army". Now this is one race I am looking forward to and I can tick it off my bucket list!Till next time :-)
